Precious Souls
For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul?
Or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?
Imagine the world
Filled with all that exists
Every fruit-bearing tree, every fish of the sea,
Every crop that comes to harvest
The gold of the land, the money of man
The jewels, the cars and the clothes,
The finest of these in all of the earth
Every treasure that man has bestowed
All this combined and what do you have?
Not enough to buy the soul of one man
And if a person should sell it for less,
That person indeed will come to distress
For the enemy comes and makes his low offer
Money and fame, a house and a lover
For many this offer – too hard to resist
They sign off the rights to freely exist
So for those with a soul, I urge you to listen!
Don’t sell yourselves short with mortal possessions!
But now that you know the value of souls
Go out from your houses and preach to the world
Find every lost soul that is feeling alone
Tell them, “Jesus is waiting to give you a home.”
